Printable V8 V-Fusion® Refreshers Coupon and Review
My kids, like most, love sodas and I am always looking for healthier alternatives. Recently I introduced my family to V8 V-Fusion® Refreshers. V8 V-Fusion Refreshers a juice drink blend of fruit and veggie juices. They contain no artificial sweeteners, colors or preservatives and have 100% of RDA of Vitamin C. V8 Fusion Refreshers come in four unique flavor combinations including Black Cherry Berry, Cranberry Grape, Tangerine Passionfruit and Peach Strawberry.
Recently, my middle son visited for dinner and I served the Tangerine Passionfruit and Black Cherry Berry. So, what did we think?
V8 V-Fusion® Refreshers Taste Impressions
We tried both the Tangerine Passionfruit and the Black Cherry Berry. Josh preferred the Tangerine Passionfruit V8 V-Fusion Refresher and I preferred the Black Cherry Berry. The Tangerine Passionfruit has a sweet flavor with a tangy-tart aftertaste. Josh has always loved tangy juices and candy, so he really preferred it.
I preferred the Black Cherry Berry flavor blend. The Black Cherry Berry V8 V-Fusion Refresher is pretty sweet and lacks the tartness that the Tangerine Passionfruit one had. I thought it was a little on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed the bold flavor.
My younger two kids had friends over for breakfast the following morning and, between the four kids, they polished off the remainders of both bottles and were looking for more.
Ok. For starters, I usually prefer 100% juice and V8 V-Fusion Refreshers are a juice blend with 20-25% juice. However, unlike most 100% juices, however, these contain vegetable juices in addition to the fruit. The Black Cherry Berry contains juices from sweet potatoes, carrots, purple carrots, apples, cherries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Really? Sweet potatoes? Purple Carrots? Even though I am a vegetarian and have always liberally served vegetables at meal time, my kids still try to avoid them. Yep. If you have a kid that tries to hide his broccoli under the mashed potatoes, they probably learned that trick from my kids. Vegetables are an important way for kids to get their vitamin A and V8 V-Fusion Refreshers do provide between 4 and 10% of the RDA for Vitamin A. I’m always a fan of sneaking in veggies where I can and this works!
My kids prefer the lighter flavor of V8 V-Fusion Refreshers over the 100% veggie/fruit juice blends. My youngest son commented that he thought he’d tried them before, and was adverse to trying these. Once I convinced him these weren’t the same, he willingly tried them and reluctantly admitted that he thought they were OK – and then proceeded to have 2 more glasses. He liked them both and noted that they don’t have a heavy feel to them like the 100% Veggie and Fruit Juice blends.
Score extra brownie points for V8 V-Fusion Refreshers! They don’t contain any high fructose corn syrup. The jury is still out for me on whether HFCS is unhealthy, but I would just as soon not consume it until we know more. They are also only 100 calories per 1 cup serving, so I can enjoy it without busting my diet. I would really like to try the Cranberry Grape blend and the Peach Strawberry blend next!
