Poyomi Personalized Photo Book Review and Giveaway

Personalized Photo Book Poyomi

I used one of our wedding photos for the cover of my Personalized Photo Book from Poyomi.

poyomi.comI love photography and take literally thousands of photos each year.  Sometimes, I am content to merely keep them on my PC and back them up on my favorite social media sites.  Other times, however, I want to showcase them in a special way.  In the past, I would scrapbook my photos, but I no longer have as much free time, nor do I have the wish to do it.  I just lost the drive.  I do still love themed photo books though.  They make perfect gifts and are an awesome way to showcase a special event or vacation.

Now that cameras are everywhere, I take more photos than ever before and not all of them are on my PC.  Sometimes, I use my iPad to take photos.  My son uses his iPhone and my daughter uses her iPod.  Sometimes, I use my Canon and upload the photos to my computer.  No matter how you choose to take photos, Poyomi makes it easy to create personalized photo books in just a few minutes.

This brief video shows you how to use the iPhone App:

A professionally printed Poyomi Photo Book using the Poyomi iPhone app is square, perfect bound and can have from 20 to as many as 384 pages.  The Poyomi iPad app offers more flexibility in design choices and available photo albums and, like the iPhone app, is also free.

No iPhone or iPad?  No problem?  Just use Poyomi’s website and upload your chosen photos.  Using the iPad app or the website lets create calendars, and choose different book formats in addition to square.  You can choose to have your book stapled instead of perfect bound, and choose letter size, square, digest or digest landscape sized photo books.  With a variety of themes and backgrounds to choose from, you can create a unique book every time!

I created one commemorating our family’s story, starting with photos of my husband and I when we dated in high school and ending in 2012.  I was able to select photos I had on my PC, Flickr, Facebook and other photo sites.  Creating my Poyomi photo book was as easy as selecting and uploading my photos, selecting my format, selecting my theme, captioning my photos and ordering my book. You can have a cover page and a photo for the back cover.  I used our family wedding photo for the front cover and our 2012 Christmas photo for the back cover.  The pages in between shared our story, where we live and a little about our family members.  When you finish, you get a link that you can share with other people so your friends can see your photo book online, too.  You can see mine here.

Starting at just $5.99 for a 20-page, you get a nice quality, perfect bound book to cherish for years.  I love my photo book, and the story it tells.  I will probably do another one using all the photos from our recent Disney trip!

I love this candid photo of my husband and I sharing an honest laugh. I made it the intro page with the intro text. A photo of us dating in high school begins our family story.

One caveat when creating your own book, make sure that you don't select one photo and have it span two pages. It prints with the photo and text divided in half. This was my own fault, as I didn't notice this when I proofed the design. Just wanted to alert you to it so that you don't make the same mistake.

Poyomi photo books make a great gift idea, too!  I know my dad loves personalized calendars.  He still has one that I made for him when the kids were babies.  I am considering this as a Father’s day gift for him.  When I ordered my book, I received it in a matter of days, so shipping is fast.  I could have it delivered directly to him and he would love it.

  1. My rescue, Hearts and Hounds Rescue, is celebrating our 1st birthday this month and I'd love to have a photo book with photos of the dogs we've saved and found loving homes for. Nothing beats the before/after photos of some of these dogs!

  2. This is one of the nicest keepsakes I would be glad to have. I get tired of putting together a scrapbook, I would love to try this in the future! :-

  3. I love the photo book for recipes, how cool is that to pass down to your children or to give as a gift!
