CLR Bath and Kitchen Cleaner Review
I despise cleaning the house. I will be honest. I am not Molly-maid by any stretch of the imagination. My home is lived-in. It's not a filthy pigsty, but I don't spend all day, ever day cleaning it either. What is your least favorite room to clean? Mine has GOT to be the bathroom. I can't stand scrubbing toilets and getting down on my hands and knees to clean the tub is not always an easy task.
I prefer good cleaners that work well so that I don't have to work so hard. That's why I have been a fan of CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner for a long time. I have a bottle of it in my bathroom cleaning closet right now. I live in Minnesota where we have extremely hard water. Despite being equipped with a whole house water softener, we still frequently get unsightly calcium build-up on the faucets. That white gunk is a real eye sore. It works wonders without a lot of scrubbing to get that build-up off. With minimal effort, my bathroom looks like I spent hours cleaning it. I just spray it on the item to be cleaned. Let it sit for no longer than 2 or 3 minutes and wipe it off with a rag or sponge. Besides calcium and hard water stains, CLR also works on mildew and soap scum. So yeah. I have calcium, hard water and soap scum. It's perfect for my bathroom.
It does have a strong smell and is not safe to mix with bleach, so be sure to use in a well-ventilated area and use rubber gloves when you use this (or any other) household cleaner. I always turn on the vent and make sure the door is open. Given that, I also learned something about CLR that I did not know. It has been awarded the Environmental Protection Agency’s “DfE” (Design for Environment) designation. That means its not harmful to the people in your home and are safer for the environment. As long as I've been using it, I never knew that.
