Baby Magic Healing Balm Review and Giveaway
Eczema is quite uncomfortable. While not dangerous, it can cause skin to become red, swollen and itchy. It does sometimes impact adults, but is most common in babies and children. Allergies and stress can aggravate the situation. According to my son’s dermatologist, so can low-humidity. Despite having invested in a large humidifier, my son still occasionally has flare-ups. I’m one of those adults that also has issues with it. As I’ve blogged before, I especially have issues with scaly skin on my arms. One of my sons has even referred to the skin on my elbow as “crispy.” Geesh! I felt like fried chicken when said that.
So, I’ve been trying this new Baby Magic Healing Balm for Eczema care on myself. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any noticeable fragrance. I didn’t have to walk around all day smelling like a baby. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think babies smell bad and was particularly fond of Baby Magic’s scent on my children when they were young. However, that baby-fresh scent is not the eau-du-romance for which I am searching. The description on the website says it is scented, but I didn’t detect it. Since I don’t have to smell like a nursery, it’s suitable for my skin, too!
I was also expecting a cream. However, it’s in a stick form. It almost resembles a mini-stick of deodorant. It’s easily portable and I don’t have to worry about it squeezing out in the bottom of my purse. The cap firmly attaches as well and I haven’t had any incidents of it becoming detached as I carry it around. Since it’s a stick, it’s also easier to target the trouble areas without getting it everywhere. If you have never tried to target a particular spot on a baby when they would rather be running, it’s a bit like chasing a buttered monkey. You will end up with the lotion all over the baby instead of the spot you mean to get. The stick helps take the mess out of the equation.
It is heavier than a lotion and has more of a cream texture once it’s applied. It also doesn’t absorb into the skin as quickly as a lotion. However, eczema requires more aggressive moisturizing than most lotions can muster.
So how are those “crispy” elbows? Well, they are doing somewhat better. I will keep using this balm on them and see if I experience any more improvement. My niece is expecting her first child in a couple of months, so I will probably throw in a tube of this when I make her gift basket for Taydon.
Baby Magic Healing Balm is also safe enough to use as needed. It’s made with organic Shea butter, aloe and oatmeal and enriched with vitamins to keep the skin soft and combat eczema. Bonus! It’s also cruelty free. I try to avoid products tested on animals, so that’s especially important in my book. It’s also made in the USA, hypoallergenic and free of harsh chemicals like Paraben and DMDM.
