Actz Cosmetics Cocoa Butter Sugar Scrub Pack Review and Giveaway
I recently tried some truly wonderful products from ACTZ Cosmetics and want to offer you the chance to win an entire set of four in your choice of “Flavors”. These are great for deeply exfoliating your skin. I like ACTZ because they capitalize on natural ingredients. Their products, including the Cocoa Butter Sugar Scrub, has no Paraben, Phthalates or Nitro Musks. I know that parabens may be linked to breast cancer and some of them have been banned in Europe. Phthalates may interfere with hormones, so I try to avoid those, too. However, I had never heard of Nitro Musks and had to look that one up. Nitro-Musk is one nasty customer! According to Wikipedia, they cause cancer, do not break down, disrupt hormones and can cause you to become more susceptible to other toxins. So, needless to say, I am very thankful that ACTZ does not contain that!

So what DO they contain? Well, the ACTZ sugar scrub has only these ingredients:
- Sucrose. This is just regular table sugar.
- Olive Squalane. This will keep your skin nice and soft. It is a natural moisturizer derived from olives. Some squalane comes from the livers of sharks, but ACTZ products are vegetarian.
- Glycine Soja Oil. Basically, this is soybean oil. It’s a skin conditioner.
- Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter. This is just cocoa butter. It hydrates the skin and protects it from irritation. I can imagine this would be beneficial in a sugar scrub designed to exfoliate.
- Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit. Better known as Shea Butter, this helps keep the skin soft and has even been known to reverse some sun damage.
- Emulsifying Wax and Cera alba. Bees Wax – these two ingredients help the oils and water work together.
That’s it! In addition to being natural and vegetarian, ACTZ Cosmetics are also fun! I really mean this one. Their body soaps and scrubs are gift worthy and would make great party favors. It’s never too early to start teaching our girls how to properly care for their skin and ACTZ would definitely make learning that fun. I received this adorable cupcake soap and my daughter couldn’t wait to use it. I reluctantly let go of the kid inside of me and let her have it after I tried it. They have others as well. I think the Blueberry Dreams cupcake is very pretty.
I also got to try their Naked Face Polish. It has a natural fragrance. ACTZ does not use any artificial chemicals to mask the natural fragrance of the ingredients. I rather liked the scent. It’s a nice clean smell. My skin felt smoother and cleaner after I used it.
I also, of course, received the sugar scrub to review. It’s different than most sugar scrubs on the popular market. It comes in a squeezable dispenser. You squeeze it out into your hand rather than mucking around in a container with your wet hands. I’ve been using sugar scrubs for a long time. By the time you get to the end of the product, the jar is half full of water from dipping into it with your wet hands or from shower over-spray. You don’t have to worry about that with the sugar scrubs.
It’s also different in that it’s a firmer, less liquidy product than some other sugar scrub. This one is made for deep exfoliation. You can actually shape it into a ball. As such, you must be more gentle with it so you don’t rub yourself raw. All you need is a gentle circular motion to remove the top layer of dead skin cells.
Did I mention ACTZ is fun? They offer two Cocoa Butter “flavor” packs. You can choose from the Fruit Bar flavors:
- Moneky Burps (Banana)
- Mango Sorbet
- Crazy Pineapple
- Fruity Rings
Or you can choose the Bakery Stand Flavor Pack:
- Candyland (sweet & buttery)
- Carmel Taffy
- Cinnamon Cookie Dough
- Blueberry Delight
I got to try the Crazy Pineapple scrub. I loved fruity fragrance. It smelled exactly like pineapple! Exfoliating the skin helps remove dead skin, combat dry skin and prepare it for shaving. It’s also a great anti-aging measure and combats jiggly thigh cellulite.
So, ACTZ capitalizes on natural, cruelty-free, plant-based beauty. As a vegetarian, that’s important to me. They don’t forget to have fun and appeal to the playful side of adults! That’s vital to staying young and vibrant. They are also a small, family owned business. I love to support family run operations when I can.
